Connecticut surpasses 8,000 coronavirus-linked deaths, a grim milestone against a backdrop of rising vaccination rates

As of late last week, more than 80% of those deaths were among residents from three of Connecticut’s eight counties. Fairfield, Hartford and New Haven counties each have reported at least 2,000 deaths since the pandemic began.
