Amid closures, industry downturn, Bristol DoubleTree owner breaks ground on new hotel, events center

Despite the severe nationwide downturn in the hotel and events industries, the owner of the DoubleTree in Bristol is building. He's adding a Home2Suite extended-stay hotel next to it along with a 50,000-square-foot convention and event center.
