The West Hartford man who resigned as a Cheshire teacher following a brawl with police in 2018 is suing Simsbury’s police department in federal court. Byron Pierce last year got a suspended one-year prison sentence after pleading no contest to interfering with police, but now contends officers attacked and maced him for no reason.
