Fleeing getaway driver strikes Naugatuck officer after shoplifting, police say; two arrested after chase

The officer, whose name has not been released, was struck by a car near the intersection of South Main Street, or Rte. 63, and High Street about 4 p.m. while working a private duty traffic assignment.
