Connecticut Democratic state senator, 80, running again despite opposition from his own party

Sen. Steve Cassano, a Democrat first elected to the Connecticut senate in 2010, said Monday that he will run for reelection, disputing statements from Manchester’s Democratic party leader that he had promised to step aside.
